The beautiful pattern of this wood fired teapot is a result of the fire and melted wood ash reacting in the wood-firing process. There is no artificial glaze on the teacup. During the wood firing process, when the wood ash goes into the kiln, some falls on the teawares, with constant high temperature firing, resulting in a different colour, pattern, texture, etc for each piece of teaware.

Inside, the potter has carefully crafted a ball-shaped filter which aids smooth pouring and stops leaves from clogging the spout. The lip has been carefully designed so that it pours cleanly and won't drip when drawing back.
