These wood-fired teacups from Jingdezhen, China are masterful result of the combined efforts of human and nature. 
 
Wood firing pottery is finished with melted wood ash on its surface, meaning no artificial glazes are needed in the process. It also results in a beautiful pattern and colour combination on the surface, giving a unique texture and finish to each individual piece that comes out of the kiln.
