This wood-fired Gongdao Bei was handmade by Min Zhi Studio in Jingdezhen, China. It is masterful result of the combined efforts of human and nature. 
 
Wood firing pottery is finished with melted wood ash on its surface, meaning no artificial glazes are needed in the process. It also results in a beautiful pattern and colour combination on the surface, giving a unique texture and finish to each individual piece that comes out of the kiln. 
 
The lip has been crafted so that it pours cleanly and won't drip when drawing back, while the size and shape has been thoughtfully considered so it sits in the hand comfortably.
