This teacup has not been thrown on a wheel, but has been sculpted entirely by hand by Ma Xijun of Xiwu Studio in Hangzhou. The result is a one-of-a-kind teacup featuring a swirling squall-like pattern on its surface, standing out in any collection. 
 
Ma Xijun is a contemporary ceramic artist who specializes in shino and wood ash glaze. The organic shapes and rough surfaces of his pottery contrasted with a use of fine glazes and careful firing are the calling card of potter Ma Xijun. Each piece of pottery can be considered a product of experience, from carefully selected clay to glaze finish, even the smallest cup is a great realization of years of artistic dedication and an intimate understanding of tea. 
 
This teacup includes a protective pouch, as seen in the final photo, to safeguard your teaware during transport. Designed for both convenience and reuse, it ensures your teaware remain secure wherever you go. Please note that the pouch colour will be selected at random.
