This tea tray was handmade by Ma Xijun of Xiwu Studio in Hangzhou. Ma Xijun is a contemporary ceramic artist who specializes in shino and wood ash glaze.

The pottery wares of Ma Xijun are renowned for their organic shapes and rough surfaces, carefully contrasted with a use of fine glazes and skillful firing. Each piece of pottery can be considered a product of experience, from clay selection to glaze finish, even the smallest cup is a realization of years of artistic dedication and an intimate understanding of tea.

In addition to its use in tea ceremony, this tray can also be used as a fruit vessel, a snack bowl, or any other way you can think of.
