The pottery wares of Master Ma Xijun are renowned for their organic shapes and rough surfaces, carefully contrasted with a use of fine glazes and skillful firing. Each piece of pottery can be considered a product of experience, from clay selection to glaze finish, even the smallest cup is a realization of years of artistic dedication.

As you may be able to spot in the photo, they feature the unique patterns caused by deliberate cracking. These crackles will absorb colours tea and gradually take on new colours. Over time you will see the slow change as you use it.

The potter has inset the surface of the cup with a number of carefully considered dimples, allowing it to rest comfortably in your hand.

You can also use it as a coffee mug.
