This teacup was handmade in Jingdezhen, China. The glaze finish is clear and well-formed, while the lip of the cup has been curled out slightly by the potter, meaning you can hold it when filled with boiled water and not get scalded.
 
The surface of the cup also features a delicate cracking, which will absorb the colour of tea and gradually become dyed. Over time you will see the slow change as you use it to brew your tea.
