This gaiwan was hand-crafted by Min Zhi Studio in Jingdezhen, China. They have been thinly glazed allowing the clay beneath to show through. 
 
The thin wall and wide, slanted rim makes it easy to handle, and avoids becoming too hot to the touch when pouring. The water pours out smooth and cleanly, like a small waterfall running.
