Curated natural bamboo, preserved with gnarled, insect bitten pattern and handcrafted into a unique depiction of sea waves in the traditional Chinese style. No paints, varnishes or lacquers have been used in the finishing process, enabling the wood to retain the beauty of its natural appearance.
 
The characters “清光依舊屬閒人” have been hand-carved into the surface of the wood. This is a line written by the Song dynasty poet Shao Yong (邵雍), meaning, “Beneath the crisp glow, still hangs loose for the idle souls, a quiet gleam for those sauntering through life with an unhurried rhythm.”
 
The slightly small size will be better for small leaf green teas, dark teas or white teas that have been compressed into cakes or bricks, not big enough for bigger loose leaves.
