This teapot and charcoal stove set was made by Minzhi studio in Jingdezhen, China, arriving here in the UK from China last year, just before the onset of winter. I was devasted to find the spout had been damaged in transit, so this year I took it back to China myself and had it repaired in Jingdezhen. The spout has been carefully crafted from pure silver, simple yet beautiful, it pours cleanly and won’t drip when drawing back.

Using an electric stove is easy and efficient, but I still prefer using a traditional pottery one whenever I can.

Charcoal-boiled water tastes better from it and the look, smell and sound of the quiet crackling brings so much more depth to the table. Perhaps most importantly, when I'm preparing tea this way, the whole "waiting" process makes me feel calm and peaceful, and I think that is one of many reasons why we love making and drinking tea slowly.

Please note that the silver spout will naturally oxidize over time.

This set comes with two fine cotton linen pouches as shown in the photo.
