Zhenghe is a county surrounded by mountains, located in the southern Chinese province of Fujian. One of the best white tea production areas in China, Zhenghe is known for its favourable climate conditions, well-drained soil and high elevation. It is said that the name Zhenghe was given by Emperor Huizong in the Song dynasty as he was so enamoured by the tea from the region.

This tea was made by Yu Bugui, a renowned Chinese tea master, one of the inheritors of intangible cultural heritage of Zhenghe white tea production techniques, who has been studying and making tea since 1986, when he was just 16 years old. Through his love for tea and a lifelong dedication to the craft, Yu Bugui’s tea has come to be highly regarded across China.

This tea has a distinct honey-like note with floral undertones reminiscent of a botanical garden. When drinking, the tea has a noticeably smooth and mild texture, leaving a delicate scent on the underside of the gaiwan lid.
